Our Family
October 2009
In May of 1980, there was a special wedding at Calvary Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Pamela Jo Lewis, from Knoxville, and John Michael Haddix, from Midland, Michigan, were married, thus continuing their ministry adventure together. Being on staff with Campus Crusade’s Music Ministry in those days, we served with the traveling Christian band called “Santa Fe” (Spanish for “holy faith”). We were based in Indianapolis, IN and had the pleasure of helping to reach people with the love of Christ through music on college and high school campuses in the U.S., to countries like South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Swaziland, and Japan.
Lindsy and Krista were both born during those days of our traveling ministry and into the wonderful, large "family" that came with it. Lindsy was born in October of 1984, and Krista in October of 1986 – both as Hoosiers! In 1988, we settled down a bit, leaving staff with Campus Crusade to help start a "Willow Creek style" church in Indianapolis called River Oaks Community Church. In 1993, we moved to West Michigan to once again help start a church in Holland, called Lakeland Community Church.
In 2002, we returned to our ministry with Keynote - the music ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ and after raising our support moved to Westfield, IN to Keynote’s headquarters. Lindsy graduated from Zeeland High School in 2003, and from Grand Valley State University in 2007, and Krista also graduated from Zeeland High School has recently graduated from Ball State Univ. Lindsy was married in 2006 to Jordan Griffis and they now live in Grandville, Michigan. Krista married in 2009 to Benjamin Beukema and moves to Knoxville, TN this summer! We could not be more proud of Lindsy, Jordan, Krista and Ben for the choices they’ve made in spouses and the direction of their lives. We’ve been so richly blessed!
And now, we are learning to live as empty-nesters with daughters a few hours away on either side of us! As always, we are looking to the Lord for the next step He has in our lives and ministries and of course, we’re hoping (but not hastening) the addition of more kids to our clan! :)
